Inotex

Brief description

Active ingredient: Tenoxicam

Dosage: 20 mg

Dosage form: Lyophilized powder, yellow to greenish-yellow in color, for preparation of a solution for injection (pack of 3 vials with powder and 3 ampoules with solvent)

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacological properties:

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic agent. Belongs to the oxicam class. Exerts a pronounced and long-lasting analgesic, anti-inflammatory, as well as antipyretic action.

The mechanism of action is related to inhibition of the cyclooxygenase enzyme (suppresses the activity of COX-1 and COX-2), which leads to disruption of arachidonic acid metabolism and blockade of prostaglandin synthesis at the site of inflammation, as well as in other tissues of the body.

In addition, Tenoxicam reduces the accumulation of leukocytes at the site of inflammation. In rheumatic diseases it relieves joint pain at rest and during movement, and reduces morning stiffness and swelling.

Pharmacokinetics:

Absorption and distribution:

Rapidly and completely absorbed in the GI tract. Bioavailability – 100%. Cmax is reached after 2 h. Plasma protein binding is 99%. Vd – 0.15 l/kg.

Metabolism and excretion:

Hydroxylated in the liver. Easily crosses histohematic barriers. T1/2 – 60-75 h. The main part is excreted as inactive metabolites in the urine, the remainder – in the bile.

How to use

The injections are administered intramuscularly and intravenously.

The lyophilizate should be dissolved in 2 ml of the provided solvent (2 ml of sterile water for injection).

The reconstituted solution must be used immediately.
